Jan Jekler — Why He Flew from Sweden Five Times to Meditate

Jan Jekler traveled all the way from Stockholm, Sweden to attend meditation retreats — and he has come back five times. In this candid conversation, he shares what makes the immersive experience so powerful, why the simplicity of the method surprised him, and how he always encourages others to go see it for themselves.

When it my name is yaya claire and I’m from stockholm sweden and suddenly I found this pamphlet on one of the squares in stockholm and it said get rid of your mind and get rid of your mind and get instead the universe mind which is great fantastic accepting everything thought that sounds good to me so.

That’s why I started I’ve been here it’s my fifth time here but it’s been sometimes six weeks sometimes one weeks it’s really great but after say four hours you go home to your normal life and you a little bit forget about the method so here you’re exposed to it 24 hours a day so that’s the most fantastic part about it so.

I anybody that asks me I’ll say to them go if you can hey so basically for a month for food for board and for all the meditations and everything I pay less than I pay just being just being at home so to speak so I think it’s fantastic.

Of course everybody can understand that if there was something strange with it the prices would be totally different so I think it’s it’s amazing it’s amazing with the breaks in between I think that’s six twelve hours a day yeah hours a day yeah and it seems a lot but when you’re in it days just passed and it’s I should I would say easy.

You have to focus all the time of course and that you are only working on yourself nobody else tells you what to do nobody’s asking you afterwards what is it you have been processing or as you say discarding in which pictures so it’s great for one thing I think it’s fantastic that even if there is only one foreigner in class there will be a translator or interpreter.

So that’s fantastic but basically you get here you get a little bit of a introduction how it works it’s basically very simple it’s meditating and eating and sleeping so to speak so first foreigners it’s basically the same as for the Korean people the only difference is that we always have to have our little headphones so you it’s very easy for everybody to get here really so.

In the beginning I was kind of nervous how everything was going to work gout and it was so simple and fortunately we have all you fantastic interpreters that will both me and all the other people are really grateful for we really appreciate it and I should say also about the main center is that the setting here the the nature is so beautiful so.

That yeah it’s it’s it’s perfect for meditation and everybody benefits and the goal is really not only to be stress-free but it actually to get into the universe mind world the universe which is yeah the universe is it universe is it thank you so much thank you so much thank you so.
